On August 28th 2014, 14 year old Alice Gross left her family home to meet some friends at around 1pm. She had told her parents that she would be home later that evening, but she never returned. The eventual search operation launched was the largest deployment of Metropolitan police officers since the 7/7 London bombing attack eleven years earlier.
But it was too late.
